CENTERING TIME
I believe there are angels among us,
Sent down to us, from somewhere up above.
They come to you and me in our darkest hours
To show us how to live, to teach us how to give,
To guide us with a light of love.

⇑ HYMN C#129—”Lift Up Your Heads, O Mighty Gates”
⇑ TIME OF SHARING
Open our eyes, Lord. We want to see Jesus,
To reach out and touch Him, and tell Him we love Him.
Open our ears Lord, and help us to listen.
Open our eyes, Lord. We want to see Jesus.
SCRIPTURE READING: Luke 1:5-25 (Oldtown Bible: NT 68)
REFLECT
HANGING OF THE GREENS
PREPARING THE SANCTUARY
O come, O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel,
That mourns in lonely exile here, until the Son of God appear.
Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel shall come to thee, O Israel.
THE GREENS
O Come all ye faithful, joyful and triumphant
O Come ye, O come ye to Bethlehem.
Come and behold him, born the king of angels.
Oh, come let us adore him. Oh, come let us adore him.
Oh, come let us adore him. Christ, the Lord!
THE WREATHS
Away in a manger, no crib for a bed,
The little Lord Jesus laid down his sweet head.
The stars in the sky looked down where he lay,
The little Lord Jesus asleep on the hay.
THE POINSETTIAS
We three kings of Orient are bearing gifts we traverse afar,
Field and fountain, moor and mountain, following yonder star.
O, star of wonder, star of night, star with royal beauty bright,
Westward leading, still proceeding, guide us to Thy perfect light.
THE MANGER
O Little Town of Bethlehem, descend on us we pray;
Cast out our sin and enter in; be born in us today.
We hear the Christmas angels, the great glad tidings tell;
O come to us, abide with us, our Lord Emmanuel.
THE ADVENT WREATH
Silent Night, Holy Night, all is calm, all is bright.
Round yon virgin mother and child,
holy infant so tender and mild,
Sleep in heavenly peace, sleep in heavenly peace.
PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER
Weekly Giving
- Last week, the total giving was $931.14, which is $520.78 less than expected for the week.
- Our total giving for the year is $6,900 less than we expected it to be.
On Thursday morning, we hosted the North Attleborough High School marching band in our vestry for a pre-game breakfast prior to their traditional Thanksgiving game against Attleboro High School. Our work was appreciated by all of the kids, their parents, and administrators from the school. It was a joy to see activity again in the kitchen and the buzz of excitement in reaching out to the community. We look forward to the possibility of resuming our suppers for the benefit of the community next year; please email suppers@oldtownucc.org if you’re interested in helping.
“Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass. Taking the five loaves and the two fish, he looked up to heaven and blessed and broke the loaves and gave them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. And all ate and were filled, and they took up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve baskets full.”
