A MOMENT TO LET GO / OPENING PRAYER

CALL TO WORSHIP
Look all around you.
God’s love shines in the faces of others.
Look at the windows.
See the light shining in, reminding us that we are part of God’s world.
Look within your heart,
For God is there, longing to be seen.

Open our eyes, Lord. We want to see Jesus,
To reach out and touch Him and say that we love Him.
Open our ears, Lord, and help us to listen.
Open our eyes, Lord. We want to see Jesus.

SERMON–”Sharing the Shine”

PREPARING OURSELVES FOR PRAYER (C#586)
Open my eyes that I may see
Glimpses of truth thou hast for me.
Place in my hands the wonderful key
That shall unclasp and set me free.
Silently, now, I wait for thee,
Ready, my God, thy will to see.
Open my eyes. Illumine me, Spirit divine!

PRAYERS OF THE PEOPLE and THE LORD’S PRAYER
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

BENEDICTION

BENEDICTION RESPONSE
Sent forth by God’s blessing, our true faith confessing,
The people of God from this dwelling take leave.
The service is ended. O now be extended
The fruits of our worship in all who believe.
The seed of the teaching, receptive hearts reaching
Shall blossom in action for God and for all.
God’s grace did invite us, and love shall unite us
To work for God’s realm and to answer the call.

STEWARDSHIP CORNER

Weekly Giving

  • Last week, we welcomed 68 people in worship and a beautiful baptism ceremony, and our total giving to the church for the week was $1,383.43, which is $1.19 less than expected for the week.
  • So far, this year’s congregational giving is $900 more than we expected. Keep up the great work!!

As we prepare for the season of Lent, don’t forget our Pancake Supper this Tuesday evening at 6pm for Mardi Gras, with our ever-popular Bible Jeopardy competition. Test your knowledge of the Bible and Oldtown in a fun-filled game where everyone wins! As Lent begins, we also have our Ash Wednesday evening worship at 7pm on Wednesday.

Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever.
