What is abolition, and why should we care, as Christians? Dereka Purnell, ESQ, will offer her expertise in conversation with Rev. Traci Blackmon. She is a Harvard Graduate and a lawyer who works for the Advancement Project, focused on areas of justice and equity. Recently published author of the book Becoming Abolitionists: Police, Protests, and the Pursuit of Freedom, Dereka works to end police and prison violence by providing legal assistance, research, and training in community-based organizations through an abolitionist framework.
